Testimonials and Case Studies

Don’t take my word for it – take theirs

Here are some examples of testimonials from partners and clients I’ve worked with, and case studies.

The Community Impact Initiative

The Community Impact Initiative (Cii) is a not-for-profit social enterprise that brings empty and forgotten properties back to life while providing hands-on training in construction and DIY skills under the guidance of professional tutors.

The Cii works especially with individuals and communities facing barriers like homelessness or long-term unemployment, supporting them to gain skills, qualifications, and improved wellbeing which helps them move towards employment.

Profits from selling the renovated properties are reinvested into the Cii’s activities.

The Cii won the Social Business Wales ‘Social Enterprise of the Year’ Award in 2024.

I spotted an opportunity for the Cii to talk about their community partnership approach to construction.

I also interviewed their Chief Executive, Head of Operations, and Head of Marketing for an article to promote the Social Business Wales Awards 2025.

BALDILOCKS

BALDILOCKS is a social enterprise created by founder Dan Newman, set up to support individuals experiencing hair loss due to alopecia.

Dan is a public speaker, storyteller, and advocate who uses his personal journey to help others to build confidence and resilience through wellness experiences and community support.

BALDILOCKS offers various products and services with the aim of helping people get their ‘glow’ back.

I first met Dan when I interviewed him for a case study for a partnership piece I was working on with Bridgend County Borough Council to celebrate the very successful UK SPF funding results for 2024-25 (the UK Shared Prosperity Fund – a fund for local growth and investment aimed at boosting communities, supporting local businesses, and developing individual’s skills).

I also provided a professional photo shoot for Dan and his wife Kathryn recently when they met with fellow social entrepreneur David O’Driscoll, who founded award winning social enterprise The Baxter Project.

Here’s a selection of images from that photo shoot.

David O’Driscoll – The Baxter Partnership

The Baxter Project is built on one powerful idea: that trust and enjoyment are the gateway to change. Founder David O’Driscoll, a former probation officer, delivers non-authoritative, trauma-informed sessions in schools with specially trained practitioners and their dogs. They’re fun, warm, and disarming, and that’s the point. Once a child feels safe and seen, practitioners begin to gently address the underlying issues. It’s patient work, but it’s effective.

The dogs don’t just support one child, they lift the spirit of entire school communities.

The Baxter Project won the ‘Prove it: Social Impact’ award at the Social Business Wales awards which I organised recently.
